The quality of these photos does not represent my professional abilities. What it DOES show is the amount of adrenalin which can pump through your system while sitting on your back deck and having a grizzly bear youngster unexpectedly poke his head up above the deck to  say hello!

Just to make sure I kept on my toes, this youngster returned a week later, ambling up my front walkway in Eagle River. Photo taken out the front living room window just after I dove back into the house from the front porch.
Back to the wildlife
This 2-year old in the photos below literally "posed" for me about 20 yards below my deck and spent about 10 minutes checking me out.
The first photos are a bit blurry from the shaking of my hand, and then I took deep breaths and managed to get a few clear photos before  slowly backing into the house. This same bear is the prime suspect in the attack on my Fiesta Gas Grill BBQ, which fared remarkably well. (The only damage to this sturdy BBQ was a broken handle !!)
